Birthday Surprise!

I was looking for something a bit different for a birthday card for my mother's 80th birthday today. I downloaded the workshop and templates for this card from Etsy, It was designed by Helen Allen.

Here are a few photographs and a video clip to show how it works.

This is the outside of the envelope folder
Here is the back of the envelope folder
Here is what happens when the envelope is opened:

Here is the inside of the envelope folder with the greeting

This is what the top and bottom of the cube looks like

side one of the cube
second side of the cube with Mum's birthday date

Third side with another big 80
The fourth side with 'Mum' and hearts

The elastic inside to make the box pop open!
To make this card I used
Bazzill Cardstock
Patterned papers, Alphabet Stickers and Element Stickers - Basic Grey's Nook and Pantry Collection
Alphabet Stickers - Basic Grey's Max and Whiskers
Elastic Band
Distress Ink
Stickles
Liquid Pearls

I gave it to Mum at The Ritz where we had afternoon tea to celebrate her day - the card really did surprise her!

Thanks for looking - off to The Ritz now for Mum's 80th birthday afternoon tea party!

  1. Hi Lynn - I am sorry I did not notice your kind comment on my ETSY shop - I don't think I have ticked all the right boxes for notifications yet! I am tickled pink to think my card design has been for tea at the Ritz! I love your Mum's reaction too! You have done a beautiful job. Thank you again for letting me see your fab results. Do you mind me sharing your link on my Facebook page? Hugs Helen

  2. Hi Helen, thanks you for your lovely comments. You may of course link to my blog. I would have loved to come to your class at Scrapbook Magic which I visited while away on holiday last year.
