The Dodd Sisters

Over on Scrapology this month we are inviting you to join us in scraplifting the talented, Australian scrapper Melinda Spinks . We have called the challenge 'S is for Squares'.

Here is my layout:

The photo shows my cousins in New Zealand back in 1958. Kathleen Mary age 8, Susan Elizabeth age 6 and Glenda Raewyn at 2 years of age. This photo was a Christmas portrait.

I used:
Patterned papers - Kaisercraft - Rustic Harmony
A selection of flowers and embellishments from various Papermaze kits purchased over the last few years:
Badge buttons
Twine
Dew Drops - clear
Decorative Pins
Chalk Inks
Rubons - Basic Grey & Making Memories
Embossing folders
Kraft Cardstock - Bazzill

I cut the patterned papers and cardstock into 5cm squares and embossed some of them, before inking the edges and arranging them on the background paper. The photo has four layers to the mount.
I had lots of rubons in my collection to choose from, I had just sorted them all out as I won a Sticker storage system in a crop raffle at Cardinal Colours last month. I find some makes of rub-ons are much better than others, the two I used above are easy to use and give great results. Although I love most of the Kaisercraft products I find some of their rub-ons impossible to 'run on'! Please comment with your experiences using various makes of  rub-ons, would love to hear what you have discovered.

Here is the original layout and the sketch:

Do pop over to Scrapology and take a look at the details of the challenge.

Thanks for looking.
